Christopher LaGrassa is a Deputy Legislative Counsel. He joined the office in 2018.
Mr. LaGrassa is assigned to the Legislative Services Branch. This branch is responsible for advising Members and legislative staff on legislative procedure, appropriations and the state budget, the Political Reform Act of 1974, election law, litigation, personnel issues, and other legislative matters, and for drafting contracts and leases.
Prior to joining the office, Mr. LaGrassa worked as an associate attorney at a private law firm, where he practiced municipal and political law. Prior to that, he served as a law clerk at the City of Elk Grove City Attorney’s Office, the Fair Political Practices Commission, and a private law firm.
Mr. LaGrassa received his J.D. from the University of California, Davis, King Hall School of Law. He earned his undergraduate degree in political science from University California, Irvine.
Mr. LaGrassa is a member of the California State Bar.
