Madison Schultz is a Deputy Legislative Counsel. She joined the office in 2024.
Ms. Schultz is assigned to a branch of the office that handles laws relating to air resources, elementary and secondary education, fish and wildlife, food and agriculture, harbors and navigation, hazardous materials, postsecondary education, public resources, public safety, public utilities, solid waste, streets and highways, transportation, and water.
Prior to joining the office, Ms. Schultz worked as an intern for the Office of Legislative Counsel. She also served as an extern for Justice Kelli M. Evans of the Supreme Court of California and an intern with the East Bay Community Law Center.
Ms. Schultz received her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law, where she was elected a member of the Order of the Coif and earned several Reynoso Academic Achievement Awards. She earned her undergraduate degrees in political science and English from Gonzaga University, where she graduated summa cum laude.
Ms. Schultz is a member of the California State Bar.
