Suli Mastorakos is a Deputy Legislative Counsel. He joined the office in 2024.
Mr. Mastorakos is assigned to the Legislative Services Branch. This branch is responsible for advising Members and legislative staff on legislative procedure, appropriations and the state budget, the Political Reform Act of 1974, election law, litigation, personnel issues, and other legislative matters, and for drafting contracts and leases.
Prior to joining the office, Mr. Mastorakos served as an associate attorney at a private law firm specializing in civil litigation. Before that he worked as a law clerk and legal assistant for private firms in areas that included personal injury and employment law.
Mr. Mastorakos received his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he was Primary Managing Editor of the McGeorge Law Review and on the Dean’s List. He earned his undergraduate degree in philosophy from the University of California, Davis.
Mr. Mastorakos is a member of the California State Bar.
