Sarah Brandon is a Deputy Legislative Counsel. She joined the office in 2024.

Ms. Brandon is assigned to a branch of the office that handles laws relating to alcoholic beverage control, business, civil law, financial institutions, healing arts, housing and community development, land use, local government, private employment, professions and vocations, public contracts, public employment, retirement, state government, taxation, and unemployment insurance.

Prior to joining the office, Ms. Brandon served as a legal fellow and legal clerk, specializing in housing and employment law.

Ms. Brandon received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. She earned a master’s degree in public policy from the Goldman School of Public Policy, University of California, Berkeley, and a bachelor’s in English with honors in nonfiction writing from Brown University.

Ms. Brandon is a member of the California State Bar.
