Anaiz Martinez is a Deputy Legislative Counsel. She joined the office in 2022.

Ms. Martinez is assigned to a branch of the office that handles laws relating to air resources, elementary and secondary education, fish and wildlife, food and agriculture, harbors and navigation, hazardous materials, postsecondary education, public resources, public safety, public utilities, solid waste, streets and highways, transportation, and water. 

Prior to joining the office, Ms. Martinez served as a law clerk in the 97th Air Mobility Wing Judge Advocate Office at Travis Air Force Base, California. Prior to that, she was a legal intern with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Before her career in law, Ms. Martinez spent seven years in the Air Force.  

Ms. Martinez received her J.D. from the University of California, Davis, School of Law. She earned an undergraduate degree in political science and government from Ashford University, San Diego, graduating summa cum laude.  

Ms. Martinez is a member of the California State Bar.
