Jason Miller is a Deputy Legislative Counsel. He joined the office in 2022.
Mr. Miller is assigned to a branch of the office that handles laws relating to air resources, elementary and secondary education, fish and wildlife, food and agriculture, harbors and navigation, hazardous materials, postsecondary education, public resources, public safety, public utilities, solid waste, streets and highways, transportation, and water.
Prior to joining the office, Mr. Miller served as senior counsel with a private law firm, focusing on the public education area. He also previously worked as a Deputy Legislative Counsel with the Office of Legislative Counsel. He externed for Justice M. Kathleen Butz of the Third District Court of Appeal and the California Office of the Attorney General in Sacramento.
Mr. Miller received his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and Editor-in-Chief for the McGeorge Law Review. He earned a master’s in education from National University in La Jolla, California, and a bachelor’s degree in film and video studies from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Mr. Miller is a member of the California State Bar.
