Nancy Craig is a Deputy Legislative Counsel. She joined the office in 2022.
Ms. Craig is assigned to the Legislative Services Branch. This branch is responsible for advising Members and legislative staff on legislative procedure, appropriations and the state budget, the Political Reform Act of 1974, election law, litigation, personnel issues, and other legislative matters, and for drafting contracts and leases.
Prior to joining the office, Ms. Craig served in the roles of Labor Relations Counsel at the California Department of Human Resources and Assistant General Counsel at the California Agricultural Labor Relations Board. Prior to state service, Ms. Craig also worked in private practice specializing in employment law and other areas.
Ms. Craig received her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School, where she was member of the Order of the Coif and later returned to work as an associate visiting professor of clinical law. She received her undergraduate degree in history from Swarthmore College.
Ms. Craig is a member of the California State Bar.
