Amanda Kelly

Amanda Kelly is a Deputy Legislative Counsel.  She joined the office in 2017.

Ms. Kelly is assigned to a branch of the office that handles laws relating to courts, criminal law, estates and trusts, family law, gaming, health and care facilities, health care service plans, health insurance, insurance, juveniles, Medi-Cal, military and veterans, prevailing wage, public health, public social services, vehicles, and workers’ compensation.

Prior to joining the office, Ms. Kelly worked for the Fair Political Practices Commission as a commission counsel. Prior to working as a commission counsel, she worked as a graduate student assistant for the Office of the Legislative Counsel and as a legislative intern for the California Department of Insurance. Ms. Kelly also has eight years of experience in public relations.

Ms. Kelly received her J.D. with great distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of The University of the Pacific Law Review. She earned her undergraduate degree in journalism and English from the University of Southern California.

Ms. Kelly is a member of the California State Bar.
