Daniel Kessler is a deputy legislative counsel. He joined the office in 2011.

Mr. Kessler is assigned to a branch of the office that handles laws relating to education, transportation, utilities, the environment, and food and agriculture.

Prior to joining the office, Mr. Kessler worked as a judicial clerk for Nevada’s Third Judicial District Court, as an associate with the Law Offices of Peter Rausch specializing in small business litigation, and as an associate with the law firm Miller Owen & Trost where he represented local government organizations and joint powers authorities.

Mr. Kessler received his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law where he graduated with distinction concentrating in taxation. He was a member of the Traynor Honor Society and received the Witkin Award in Business Associations.  He earned his undergraduate degree in history from Sonoma State University.

Mr. Kessler is a member of the California State Bar and the Sacramento County Bar Association.  He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.
