Roman Edwards is a deputy legislative counsel. He joined the office in 2016.
Mr. Edwards is assigned to a branch of the office that handles laws relating to courts, criminal law, estates and trusts, family law, gaming, heath and care facilities, health care service plans, health insurance, insurance, juveniles, Medi-Cal, military and veterans, prevailing wage, public health, public social services, vehicles and workers’ compensation.
Prior to joining the office, Mr. Edwards worked as a deputy legislative counsel for the Nevada Legislative Counsel Bureau for two years. During law school he worked for the Yolo County District Attorney’s office as a certified legal intern.
Mr. Edwards received his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he graduated with great distinction. He was elected to the Order of the Coif and a member of the Traynor Society. He also was a staff writer and primary legislative editor for the McGeorge Law Review. He earned his undergraduate degree in psychology and criminology from the University of California, Irvine.
Mr. Edwards is a member of the California State Bar.
