Lindsey Nakano is a deputy legislative counsel. She joined the office in 2015.
Ms. Nakano is assigned to a branch of the office that handles laws relating to air resources, elementary and secondary education, fish and wildlife, food and agriculture, harbors and navigation, hazardous materials, postsecondary education, public resources, public safety, public utilities, solid waste, streets and highways, transportation and water. Ms. Nakano’s practice focuses on the areas of hazardous materials, solid waste, and education.
Prior to joining the office, Ms. Nakano worked as a legal intern with the Fair Political Practices Commission, the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office, and the California State Senate.
Ms. Nakano received her J.D. from U.C. Hastings College of the Law, and was an articles editor for the Hastings Women’s Law Journal. She earned her undergraduate degree in philosophy and government from California State University, Sacramento, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Ms. Nakano is a member of the California State Bar.
