Amy Haydt, who joined the office in 2005, manages the Opinion Branch. This branch develops and presents, either in written or oral form, the formal legal opinions of the Office of Legislative Counsel.
Prior to joining the office, Ms. Haydt was a Deputy District Attorney in the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office. She was also an associate attorney at a private law firm.
Ms. Haydt received her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where she graduated summa cum laude and was awarded the Order of the Coif. Ms. Haydt was the Chief Comment Editor of and comment writer for the McGeorge Law Review. She earned her undergraduate degree in government from the University of Redlands.
Ms. Haydt is a member of the California State Bar.
