Alyssa Kaplan, who joined the office in 2014, is a supervisor in the Legislative Services Branch. This branch is responsible for advising the Members and legislative staff on legislature procedure, appropriations and the State Budget, the Political Reform Act of 1974, election law, litigation, personnel issues, and other legislative matters, and for drafting contracts and leases. 

Before joining the office, Ms. Kaplan served as an attorney advisor in the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Administrative Law Judges at the Pittsburgh District Office.

Ms. Kaplan received her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, from which she graduated magna cum laude. While at Cardozo, she served as a Notes Editor on the Cardozo Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Ms. Kaplan earned her undergraduate degree in English from Tulane University, from which she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

Ms. Kaplan is a member of the California State Bar.
