Kathryn Londenberg is a Chief Deputy in the Legal Division. Ms. Londenberg began her service in this position with the office in 2021.

Ms. Londenberg joined the office in 2011 and was assigned to the Legislative Services Branch. This branch is responsible for advising Members of the Legislature and staff on legislative procedure, appropriations and the state budget, the Political Reform Act of 1974, election law, litigation, personnel issues, and other legislative matters, and for drafting contracts and leases. Ms. Londenberg also served for many years as a Capitol Deputy in the Legislative Counsel’s Capitol Office. In that role, she worked closely with the Rules Committees in both houses of the Legislature, helped oversee the workflow of the office, often served as the first point of contact for legislators and staff, and helped resolve complex and time-sensitive legal matters.

Prior to joining the office, Ms. Londenberg worked as an extern for then-Chief Justice Ronald M. George at the Supreme Court of California, an intern at the Napa County Superior Court, and a law clerk at three private law firms. She earned a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from UC College of the Law, San Francisco, where she was a senior editor for the Hastings Law Journal and received several awards for academic excellence. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from UC Berkeley.

Ms. Londenberg is a member of the California State Bar.
